Diamonds and Pearls Throw

Hi Fast Kitty Friends! I am so excited to be back and posting a new pattern! Fall is just around the corner, so now is the perfect time to make this light and lacy (and the perfect amount of cozy) unique crochet throw blanket. The pattern features some new stitches you may have never tried before! The alternating rows of "diamonds" and "pearls" make this pattern stunning to look at, and fun to make!

Full video tutorial is linked below.

Level:

Intermediate

Finished Size:

Approximately 40" x 62"

Materials:

Approx. 1720 yards of size 4 weight yarn

I used 8 balls of Yarn Bee Breathe Deep

Size I/5.5 mm crochet hook

Stitches Used:

Ch - chain

Sl st - Slip stitch

Sc - single crochet

Exsc - extended single crochet. Insert hook into stitch, yo, pull through a loop, yo pull through first loop on hook, yo pull through both loops on hook.

Hdc Puff Stitch - half double crochet puff stitch. Yo, insert hook into stitch, yo, pull through a loop (3 times) Yo, pull through all remaining loops on your hook.

Pattern is a multiple of 4 + 1, starting chain is a multiple of 4 + 2

R1- Using size I/5.5mm hook, chain 230. Turn chain over, in second chain from hook place exsc. *Ch 1, skip next chain, exsc in next chain. Repeat from * across chain, ending with exsc in last chain.

Rows 2-3 Chain 1, turn, exsc in first stitch. *Ch 1, skip ch space, exsc in next stitch. Repeat from * across row, ending with exsc in last stitch.

R4- Chain 1, sc in first stitch. *Chain 4, skip 3 stitches, sc in next stitch (You're skipping a ch1 sp, exsc, ch1 sp). Repeat from * across row, ending with a sc in last stitch.

Rows 5-6 Ch 1, turn, sc in first stitch. *Chain 3, skip chain 4 space, sc in next stitch. Repeat from * across row, ending with a sc in last stitch.

R7- Ch 1, turn, sc in first stitch. Chain 2, sl st into ch 4 space from row 4 (3 rows down), ch 2, sc in next stitch (the sc from previous row 6). You will see the "diamonds" begin to form.

R8- Ch 1, turn hdc puff stitch in first stitch. Chain 4, skip next [ch 2 sp, sl st, ch 2 sp] from previous row, hdc puff st in next sc (the top of the "diamond").

Rows 9-10 Ch 1, turn, sc in first stitch. *Chain 3, skip chain 4 space, sc in next stitch. Repeat from * across row, ending with a sc in last stitch.

R11- Repeat row 7.

R12- Ch 1, turn, sc in first stitch, *chain 3, skip next [ch 2 sp, sl st, ch 2 sp] sc in next stitch (top of diamond). Repeat from * across row, ending with a sc in last stitch.

R13- Ch 1, turn, exsc in first stitch. *Ch 1, [exsc, ch 1, exsc, ch 1] in next ch 3 space. Exsc in next stitch. Repeat from * across row, ending with exsc in last stitch.

Rows 14-15 Repeat rows 2 & 3.

Now, just repeat rows 4 - 15 until you reach desired width for your blanket. My blanket was 9 pattern repeats. Finish off!

*Note: I had run out of the darker teal color yarn, so I added 2 different colors along the sides. I recommend you change colors at a row 4 of pattern if you like the stripe effect.

I liked my blanket as-is with no border added.
